$35.06/hr-Day One Benefits including Medical, Dental, 401K and MORE!
- Operates boiler and turbine generator and makes changes in operation as required to ensure operations conform to ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and NBIC (National Board Inspection standards.
- Monitors boiler, turbine generators and electrostatic precipitators to ensure optimum safe operation.
- Reads the operating board and gauges and must be able to explain the use and meaning.
- Monitors and operates boilers and turbine generators through computerized control systems in regard to fuel air ratio, etc.
- Performs duties of Boilerhouse Fireman and Coal Handler as required.
- Explains actions to be taken in the event of an emergency or shutdown.
- Maintains workstation in a clean and safe manner.
- Performs minor maintenance.
- Works overtime as required.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED certificate is required.
- State of MN 1-A boiler license or higher; must meet the state licensing requirements for the applicable state of operation.
- Minimum of 2 years of boiler operator experience is required.
- Knowledge and understanding of all phases of boiler operation including steam, coal handling, firing, ash system, steam turbines, water levels and quality, pressure valves and piping.
- Ability to supervise the work of Boilerhouse crew.
- Individual must be medically evaluated, fit tested and trained to use SCBA's in an emergency in order to safely shut down critical operations where abandonment would create a safety hazard.
- Must be able to reference, read and understand how to use MSDS information.
- Driver's license is required and must be able to obtain forklift certification.
- Must be able to perform the duties of Boilerhouse Fireman and Coal Handler.
