DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in Team meetings and safety meetings.
• Performs sheet, structural steel work for laying out, fabricating, assembling, erecting, installing, dismantling, repairing, altering, testing, and other similar work on equipment such as stills, towers, baffles, baffle, and tray supports, furnaces and heaters, boilers, shell and tube equipment, coolers, tanks, vessels, bubble and down flow trays, hangers, and other similar machinery, equipment, tools, and parts.
• Performs or directs any type of rigging necessary for lifting, loading, unloading, positioning, and moving of materials, including heavy equipment and machinery. Perform operations with machine and hand tools as punching, shearing, rolling, bending, cutting, tapping, drilling, threading, fitting, reaming, bolting, riveting, chipping, caulking, and grinding.
• Uses torch for heating and/or cutting rivets and steel. Performs burning and cutting on metal pipe and plate.
• Inspects, installs, dismantles, and repairs tubes and headers. Tests tubes for leaks. May be required to unhead tube and shell equipment in conducting the test. Salvages equipment and parts. May be required to remove baffles from towers and fabricate and form reinforcing rods.
• Reads and works from blueprints, specifications, and sketches, lays-out, fabricates parts and equipment to precise dimensions using square, tape, and other precision instruments, records measurements. Requires knowledge of shop mathematics to work with percentages, fractions and decimals, layout and develop patterns.
• Must be able to understand verbal and written orders and issue instructions accurately and clearly for proper execution.
• Perform customary rigging, scaffolding and other tasks incidental to the work assigned.
• Perform housekeeping duties and is responsible for leaving equipment and immediate work area neat and orderly.
• Responsible for observance of general safety instructions applying to all employees.
• May be required to instruct and train employees in the work of the classification. May direct the work of others.

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Prior experience in industrial maintenance in similar industry.
• Current State Driver’s License.
• Work in varying weather conditions: hot, cold, and wet conditions.
• Works in areas with large industrial equipment subject to high noise levels.
• May work in areas with hazardous chemicals.
• Works outdoors on uneven surfaces.
• May be required to stand, stoop, bend, and crouch for long periods of time.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Communications: Able to read, write, speak & comprehend English fluently
Hearing: Hearing adequate to perform job duties
Speaking: Able to communicate clearly in person and over phone
Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties as indicated

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• Overtime
• Weekend availability
