Camp Mi-Te-Na, a branch of The Granite Y, is hiring summer camp cabin counselors who have experience and passion to work with younger youth/campers aged 8 to 10yrs. We are looking for individuals who want to help campers develop their social skills, address behavioral issues, ensure their well-being, and engaged them in creative ways to have fun.

Camp Mi-Te-Na is located on Halfmoon Lake in Alton, NH. Counselors will live and work with children at the overnight camp. Each counselor will have shared (with another counselor) responsibility for leading and supervising the cabin of about eight campers ensuring each camper’s health, safety and participation in all aspects of camp life.

This position will require enthusiasm, humor, patience, energy, maturity, focus and creativity on a continual basis to be a successful counselor. Previous experience at an overnight camp is preferred, however, training is provided at the beginning of the camp season. Although this position is to work with our youngest campers, applicants should have the ability to connect with youth aged 8-15 years old. The staff live in cabins with campers and also are the staff for the program activities throughout the day. Programs can include the following; sports staff, waterfront swim instructors/lifeguards, target sports instructors, ropes course instructors, and creative arts. Skills in these program activities are preferred.

This position is at an all boys’ overnight camp. Employee will live on site, in a cabin with campers, for 9 weeks beginning June 17, 2023 until August 19, 2023. Time off is scheduled throughout the season.

Pay range $250-$350 per week depending on experience. Room and board are included. Staff will gain lifelong skills that will be transferable to many future job and career choices.
