Job Summary:

The Branch Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of transport drivers. This job has a large focus on striving for efficiency and safety for staff and clients on a daily basis, with safety being the #1 priority.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of Macon, GA and Columbus, GA locations with a total of 30-35 employees between both locations.
  • Helping to maintain the lines of communication between the company and our railroad customers
  • Recruiting, hiring, and onboarding qualified transport drivers
  • Training and educating all employees on safety requirements, company procedures, etc.
  • Ensuring that policies and procedures set forth by the company are followed
  • Coordinating the day-to-day activities of your drivers (scheduling, working with our dispatch team, etc.)
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of your drivers
  • Monitoring and making sure regular maintenance is done on all vehicles
  • Being responsive to the needs of our Dispatch team
  • Promoting and practicing safety awareness

Requirements:

  • One+ years of related management/supervisory experience, experience managing multiple sites a plus, experience working with the railroad a bonus.
  • Experience with meeting recruiting needs including interviewing, onboarding etc.
  • Must be able to pass a post offer drug screening, Motor Vehicle Reports, and background check
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and supervisory skills
  • Experience with employee management systems, Microsoft Office, and related business equipment
  • Experience with structuring documentation including counseling forms, terminations, and leave forms with an eye for detail.
