The Brand Manager will support and help drive the BC brand strategy and initiatives for the FM business for North America collaboratively with the BC Brand team and Director. Responsible for driving the strategy for our core range of chocolate inclusions and compounds while also delivering on the financial KPIs for our better for you product portfolio, including all strategy and initiatives. This role will be instrumental in driving our growth of our ‘better for you portfolio’ by leading global and regional innovation projects ensuring our leadership in this space within the industry. Leading cross functional teams and delivering results with impact is critical for this role. This role will also have a role in our simplification and SKU rationalization team with the goal to provide the optimal solutions to our customers while ensuring efficiency in our portfolio. This position will also be a contributing member to the team’s impact strategy and scorecard.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Responsible for the impact and ultimately the growth of the Better For You product portfolio for the BC Brand Business. . This includes the long-term strategic plan, marketing activations, toolkits, sales training and delivering the KPIs. It also includes identifying the growth areas and leading new product ideas through the innovation stage gate to launch.
  • Lead innovation and new product launches for corresponding product ownership. This role is expected to identify gaps in the better for you portfolio and bring these innovative and new product ideas forward to the Director of the Brand and ultimately to the Regional and Global Innovation teams.
  • This role is responsible for leading the projects as the MPO, which includes crafting all gate documents and leading the project via the cross functional teams.
  • This role also launches the new product including marketing plan, activations, sales training and external communications and tools. This role also is responsible for the new product KPIs, impact and will have ownership of driving the innovation rate in the region.
o This role will be the region lead and representation for our better for you portfolio, including the day to day management of our Cacaofruit range in this region. This role will collaborate closely with the Global Cacaofruit team and identify joint goals and initiatives in order to drive impact for this region.
o The colleague will be a team member of the global Food4Health platform of initiatives and help drive impact and KPIs of these projects.
o Help guide team and extended team members of MTP growth plans for the BC Brand business
  • Co- Lead of the BC Selection for the brand team. This role ensures proper KPIs are tracked, reported and appropriate tools are continually provided for the sales team in order to meet growth targets. (this includes identifying gaps to close and actions to course correct).
  • Continual product management/ SKU rationalization for the core inclusions and compounds and also the specialty better for you portfolio and partner with the Simplification R&D team to co-deliver KPIs.
  • Perform industry research and trend analysis as part of the innovation plan needs. (use of secondary research such as Euromonitor, Mintel, Iris databases)

About you:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing
  • MBA with a focus in Marketing preferred
  • 6-7 years of B2B marketing experience, experience or knowledge of the chocolate industry a plus
  • Experience with marketing to national and/or regional food manufacturers required
  • Multiple product portfolio product management and analysis skills required
  • Experience with leading cross functional team projects
  • Experience in innovation and new product launches
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Proficient in Word/Excel/PowerPoint, SAP knowledge a plus
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple departments and portray a professional and positive image
  • Travel less than 15%
