BRIDGE ACADEMY COORDINATOR
FULL-TIME / NON-EXEMPT / UNION-REPRESENTED
STARTING HOURLY WAGE: $25.00 - $26.37

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:*
Reporting to the Program Manager of Larkin Street Academy (LSA), the primary role of the Bridge Academy Program Coordinator is to oversee the Bridge Academy program by utilizing a Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity (DEI) lens and Restorative Practices lens in developing a sense of community among youth participants in Bridge Cohorts by collaborating with internal Larkin Street Youth Services and external agencies in college-related programming, advising, and curriculum development including teaching college readiness, Math, English, matriculation, retention, graduation, educational plans, event coordination, and support tutors/mentors in classroom lessons and development.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:*
- Teach four (4) cycles of 8-10 week college readiness courses.
- Design and implement curriculum/syllabus and programming that support youth in developing skills to access and succeed in postsecondary education.
- Input touchpoints into Larkin Street Youth Services database through Enterprise Nonprofit Software (ETO).
- Work with Larkin Street Academy in implementing a college-readiness culture and Monthly Newsletters.
- In conjunction with Pre-College/Post-secondary Education Coordinators, support general and/or college counseling activities
- Provide education outreach to youth in housing programs, the Engagement and Counseling Center (ECC), and Larkin Street Academy (LSA).
- Develop education goals and case/education plans in areas such as budgeting, housing, substance use, transportation, and time management.
- Coordinate between case managers and clients to clarify expectations, requirements, availability, incentives, etc.
- Support with events such as LSA graduations, Back to School, Career Night, etc.
- Foster relationships with the community that strengthen the program
- Creates activities to support college and career exploration
- Track student attendance and stipends

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collect and disseminate information on academic requirements, employment opportunities, and other pertinent services weekly to the college program.
- Timely completion of all service forms.
- Responsible for supporting program services within the milieu. For example, crisis intervention or helping to maintain the safety of the program.
- Responsible for contributing towards the care and welfare of staff and to the clients we serve.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Associate of Arts or equivalent degree in Social Work or related field or has at least 2-3 years of leading classroom instruction.
- Preferred Bachelor Degree in social work or related field.

EXPERIENCE:*
- Knowledge of two and four-year postsecondary institutions (including Career and Technical Education programs).
- Curriculum development is a plus.
- Tutoring and Instruction experience.
- Ability to use experience and judgment to manage goals and projects.
- Ability to be a self-starter with follow-through skills.
- Working knowledge of issues facing homeless youth.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook)

PHYSICAL & LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires ability to lift, transfer, push/pull, maneuver, and reposition 25 lbs.
- Ability to reach, bend and walk.
- Finger manipulation.
- Ability to comprehend complex materials.
- Ability to speak and write English clearly and accurately.
