BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

Must be a Christian who is a member of a church that holds Jesus Christ to be their Savior and Lord, and who holds solely the Old Testament and the New Testament as sacred Scriptures.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

The broadcast coordinator will oversee the operations of the Patriot Broadcasting Network under the direction of the Director of Media Services. The coordinator will hire and manage staff for all sports broadcasts and university event broadcasts. The broadcast coordinator will assist in growing the partnership between Media Services and the Broadcast/Digital Media degree program in the College of Fine Arts. The broadcast coordinator will also assist with planning for AVL improvements and new construction across the DBU campus to further support the broadcast needs of the university.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have an understanding of the Mission and Vision of Dallas Baptist University.
  • Three or more years of relevant knowledge and experience in audio, video, lighting, and production leadership in broadcast productions.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the technical and logistical operations of the Patriot Broadcasting Network
  • Advise and collaborate on the creative vision and creative elements of the Patriot Broadcasting Network with the Assistant Director of Athletics for Media Relations
  • Maintain the partnership between Media Services/PBN and the Broadcast/Digital Media degree program.
  • Manage all PBN broadcasts (baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, hockey, and university events).
  • Assist the Production Coordinators and Project Coordinators as needed in the design and operation of AVL systems for special events including Commencement Exercises, Spring Sing, SWAT Week, and other university events.
  • Recommend and supervise student workers assigned to the Patriot Broadcasting Network.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Athletics and the Assistant Vice President for Administrative Affairs.

WORK SCHEDULE:

The Broadcast Coordinator will have regular hours but will be expected to work irregular hours at times through the duration of different seasons.
