Bus Monitor Duties
Classification: Non Exempt
Reports To: Transportation Coordinator
Job Description
Summary/Objective
To provide safe, orderly and efficient transportation services.
Essential Functions
- Follow all established policies, procedures and practices in terms of duties and responsibilities of the position as delegated by the supervisor.
- Responsible to ride on the bus and monitor student behavior, issuing citations when necessary.
- Monitor students and their behavior on the bus at all times.
- Enjoy working with children of all ages and be sensitive to their needs.
- Able to understand and have empathy for persons with disabilities.
- Must establish and maintain effective communication with those contacted in the course of work.
- Perform such tasks at the supervisor may request in order to promote cooperative team work.
- Employee will follow all health and safety rules, policies and procedures.
- Use respectable language at all times.
- Must be neat, clean and dress appropriately.
- Display professional behavior when working with students, parents and co-workers.
- Assure that students get on and off the bus in a safe and orderly fashion and maintain good student conduct on the bus.
- Other duties as assigned.

The work environment is on a bus, assisting kids to and from school and requires standing, kneeling, bending and stooping.

Lunch Monitor

Job Description
Summary/Objective
Monitor the student behavior during assigned lunch times.
Essential Functions
- Monitor student behavior during lunch times.
- Show students how to properly clean off the tables and stack their chairs.
- Notify appropriate staff of any behavior issues that arise during the lunch times.
- Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
The setting for this position is the school lunch rooms. Most of the work day is spent standing, walking, talking, listening, bending and stooping. Employees in this position may have to lift 10-25 pounds occasionally.
