Duties and Responsibilities:
50% Meets with scholars on an individual basis 6-8 times (or more as needed) per program to guide business growth with the final meeting dedicated to quality control of the growth plan and an advisor transition plan.
20% Works with scholars to connect them to external Business Support Services as needed for specialty services.
10% Participates in assessment of scholars and alumni through M&E activities, including ongoing awareness of validation.
10% Assists within the classroom to coordinate group activities and support faculty.
10% Works closely with the Outreach Director to leverage and deepen relationships with the local business ecosystem and community.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited university or college
Required Experience: Minimum of (5) five years experience in operating in a small business environment and in-depth knowledge of growth strategies for small businesses.
Minimum of (2) two years of experience advising, counseling, teaching or mentoring small business owners.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Required Licenses or Certifications: N/A
Preferred Education: Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited university or college, with a an emphasis in Business, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Accounting or Finance
Preferred Experience: Excellent planning, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ability to develop and maintain relationships with small business owners, broader program team, and local community partners.
High personal and professional ethical standards.
Knowledge of best practices for entrepreneurial success.
Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.
