Resource Innovations is seeking a Business Analyst to join our growing team in Salt Lake City, Utah. Candidates currently based in Salt Lake City are preferred as this is a hybrid role. This is a critical role within the team. This person will support utility program delivery software system design, launch, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will optimize systems for specific client programs to drive operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

This candidate will have a demonstrated interest in energy efficiency and working towards a more sustainable energy future. A background in utility programs or energy efficiency is not required, however the ability and passion to learn and become well-versed in them is.

In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders and partners to provide innovative and quality products and services to our clients. We work with many different clients across the Northwest, so you will need to have impeccable organizational and project management skills. You will also need to be able to respond to client requests efficiently and effectively, ensuring that we’re delivering them the best and most quality service. Communication and interpersonal skills are a big part of this position as you will be communicating with clients and internal team members via email, phone, online meeting, and in-person regularly.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to timelines, budgets and well-defined scopes of work to ensure on-time project completion
• Ensure an excellent user experience for customers, vendors, and program staff who interface with systems
• Design, configure, and maintain: software workflows, automated emails, rendered documents, formulas, and forms for specific client needs based on program design and industry regulation
• Maintain quality control of deliverable products, demonstrating technical excellence, objectivity, and clarity while meeting project schedules
• Develop and maintain system documentation such as functionality requirements, configuration milestones, go-live checklists, user manuals, change logs, etc. with support from other internal and external team members
• Support maintenance and updates to existing Excel-based program calculator tools
• Promote standardization and proactively incorporate best practices into systems and processes
• Develop/maintain efficient formulas for calculating energy usage, incentives, and other industry metrics
• Support and resolve bugs, feature requests, and program updates in a timely manner
• Establish and maintain a professional rapport with clients and partners, including identifying and anticipating needs and proposing solutions to address client concerns and assure problem resolution promoting long-term productive relationships.

Requirements

• Experience with software program configuration
• Experience designing and/or building software workflows
• Experience troubleshooting software elements (e.g. formula bugs)
• Experience curating an excellent user experience for various user groups
• Ability to effectively apply mathematical skills and build formulas/calculations
• Experience testing and ensuring software integrity and quality
• Experience designing and building reports for clients and internal use
• Excellent Excel skills
• Ability to communicate with clients and clearly discussing technical topics
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while balancing schedules and budgets
• Excellent writing, interpersonal, presentation, and analytical skills
• Experience with continuous improvement of systems and/or processes and change management

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience in the energy efficiency industry
• Experience with Visual Basic (VBA)
• Programming experience with Python, Django, and Pandas
• Experience with applied mathematics
• Experience with compliance
