OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
The Business Analyst will work closely with business teams in the digital commerce space, including Customer Experience, Sales, Marketing/Communications and Digital Product/Innovation teams. In this role, this person will work with technical teams to implement IT solutions that meet business needs. The candidate will partner with the internal cross-functional IT teams and solution vendors like Magento, Emarsys, Constructor, and other related technologies. The candidate should have strong organizational skills to multi-task across multiple projects to ensure successful delivery.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Lead and liaise with business teams to gather requirements, create business process flows, develop use cases, system integrations and data flows.
- Write clear and well-structured business requirements/documents.
- Communicate and validate requirements with relevant stakeholders.
- Build user stories and to-be process flows to support the design and development of IT solutions.
- Work with independence to shape project scope, timelines and cost based on business requirements and build proposals for approvals.
- Drive successful implementation of approved projects with Business and IT technical teams.
- Assist with project management for selected projects.
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure business requirements are translated into technology design and solution.
- Oversee and track operational support delivery by global IT teams for web applications.
- Collaborate with Product and Delivery Manager on roadmap planning and prioritization.
- Acts with urgency and focus to deliver quality solutions quickly to business.
- Review business processes and recommend improvements.
- Brings career experience in web applications, ecommerce and related technologies to help guide business requirements and solutions.
SKILL SET
- Minimum of 3 years of experience on e-commerce technologies like Magento, Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud or SAP Hybris.
- Highly desirable: Solid understanding of the Magento platform and its architecture
- Proven experience as business analyst, gathering and recording business requirements and translating to IT requirements.
- Experience in creating, maintaining, and supporting all application development artifacts including user stories, process flows, screen mockups, data diagrams, business rule definitions, design documents, user manuals and training materials
- Self-motivated and results oriented mindset with experience in project management, software, and application development methodologies
- Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodology and tools such as JIRA and Confluence
- Both business process savvy and technology savvy. Ability to learn quickly in both business domain and technology domain
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work with remote and global teams and time zones
- Familiar with SDLC (software development life cycle)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience on a product development team using Agile / Scrum
- Previous experience working in Ecommerce and/or Retail industry
- Customer-first mindset
- Proactive self-starter with excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability
- Good understanding of user experience and customer journeys
- Good understanding of marketing and 3rd party integrations
- Motivated by success and your own personal development
- Passionate about technology and how it can impact product growth
- Previous experience launching features, improvements, and optimizations to enhance the user experience
- 7+ years overall work experience as IT or Business Analyst
