Business Development Consultant

We are currently looking for a Business Development Consultant for our Merry Maids team. In this role, you'll work to achieve sale to drive franchisee sales and accountability by providing high-level business consulting expertise and advice to a defined group of franchisees. In addition, you'll leverage EOS and data analytics to establish expectations and form focused action plans.

What you'll do:

  • Work to achieve sales to EOS share of market (SOM) for each license
  • Drive sales with successful achievement of percentages on lead to sale conversion, form action plans for each enterprise and provide monthly follow up on progress against action plans
  • Use data and reporting to ensure success in
    • Franchisee performance diagnostic and score
    • Balanced Scorecard tier force ranking reports
    • Work with franchisees on branch office performance
    • System sales to SOM force-ranking
    • KPIs: lead to bid %, lead to close %
    • EOS Share of market gap close
    • Identify the biggest gaps against the biggest opportunities and identify training needs or execution gaps to help get the franchisee on track in these gap areas
  • Drive accountability with in Franchisees
  • Leverage EOS and Data Anayltics to
    • Segment franchisees by performance metrics to SOM
    • Establish clear expectations L2B, L2C, cancel rates
    • Work with franchisees to form focused action plans
    • Provide monthly follow up on action plan progress
    • Provide self-guide resources that the franchisee can use to improve identified areas of opportunity / gapping
  • Facilitate learning and sharing of best practices in a wide variety of formats, including group presentations and face-to-face training
  • Ensure full brand standards compliance with all products, equipment, tools, operating systems, processes, and initiatives to promote operational excellence and superior customer experience
  • Provide action plans with timing to resolve any system non-compliance
  • Perform field audits for quality assurance
  • Assist Directors of Business Development (BDD) in managing regional initiatives and projects, provide coaching and guidance for other BDCs, provide owner support for escalated issues, gather data and reporting responsibilities, and assist with market expansion and sales initiatives in assigned region
  • Act as lead for conventions and other events, including representing the brand, owning content, programming, scheduling, and other logistics
  • Represent the business unit in franchise councils and take ownership of various responsibilities within the council
  • Serve as the primary liaison for Franchisee renewals, collections, insurance, royalties, etc.
  • Operate a motor vehicle when traveling to conduct field audits, site visits, etc.


What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required; a Master’s degree is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in business operations management or a related field is required
  • Experience in project management, leadership, budgets, profit & loss, employee supervision, customer service, and conflict resolution required
  • Sales experience in the service industry preferred
  • Multi-unit franchise operations or strategic business planning experience preferred
  • Business and financial acumen
  • Strategic and innovative thinking skills
  • Project management, organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
  • Coaching and influencing skills
  • Executive presence with the ability to speak publicly (e.g. facilitation of workshops, training sessions, and large group settings)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to review financials and key metrics and determine a corrective course of action
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed for business unit, including overnight
  • Valid, permanent driver’s license from state of residence and a clean driving record, defined as no DUI- related violations within the past 5 years and no more than three moving violations within the past three years, is required
