This is a permanent, full time position based at Home Office USA.

Role Overview

In the past couple of years, due to the pandemic and the acceptance of lateral flow testing for COVID-19, the impact and value of lateral flow technology has become evident to many industries globally. As a result of this there is significant interest in the market, and a wealth of opportunities for this platform.
To convert this demand into long term partnerships, and achieve commercial objectives, BBI Solutions is looking for an ambitious and personable Business Development Manager to support the growth of our lateral flow business unit. The individual must have a life science background and preferably have experience in the diagnostic industry, with an understanding of immunoassay technology.

You will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and progressing lateral flow development, lateral flow contract manufacturing, and Novarum business opportunities. You will be building strong and sustainable partnerships with customers, aligning with BBI’s key objectives.

The role is predominantly US based but will also require coverage of other territories including the APAC and EMEA regions.

Objectives of this role:Manage both the existing sales pipeline and the development of new business opportunities
Build and strengthen client relationships to achieve long-term partnerships
Maintain accurate records, logging calls and meetings
Responding to tenders, RFIs and RFPs, and negotiating development contracts.
Work with the lateral flow business until, and other internal teams, to develop strategic marketing plans and ensure KPIs are being met
Develop a thorough understanding of BBI’s products and service offerings to better upsell and cross-sell to customers
Role Requirements

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Identifying new business opportunities, including new markets, new customers, and new partnerships
Creating strategies to successfully reach new business opportunities
Building relationships with new customers, identifying their needs, and working with the technical teams on developing proposals to match their requirements
Maintaining and developing relationships with customers
Presenting the capabilities of BBI Solutions in meetings and events
Attending conferences and events to build relationships with industry partners, keeping up to date with new trends and the competitor landscape
Creating sales forecasts and actively working towards reaching them
Possessing a strong understanding of the company’s products and services, competition in the industry and positioning
Support growth of the whole business by identifying new opportunities within customer accounts for additional cross sell opportunities.
Conduct specific account planning and business development, trip planning; sales planning, spreadsheet analysis and forecasting.
Develop and implement strategic prospecting plans to reach the agreed financial and strategic goals.
Ensure all KPI’s are achieved monthly.
Attend weekly Sales Meetings and interact with other departments as required.
Work with marketing and Product Management teams to implement develop and targeted campaign.
Work with Product Managers to ensure negotiated contract benefits are fulfilled.
Cross sell and upsell in every customer meeting and create opportunities for the correct sales person to ensure the business exceeds plan on a month by month basis.
Keep up to date records in Salesforce, logging customer activities and updating the opportunity pipeline
It is envisaged that the role will necessitate travel with 60% customer facing time however, this is dependent on company and customer requirements.
