The Helmet Mounted Display (HMD) business unit of Thales Defense & Security, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Business Development or Sales Professional to sell and manage our Helmet Mounted Display (HMD) products. This position reports to the Vice President of Thales Visionix and is located in our Aurora, IL (Chicago) office.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with product leads to proactively contact and visit potential customers (leads) to introduce Thales Visionix HMD products resulting in bookings and sales.
  • Work with product leads to help keep the product line relevant and fresh by contributing to the long-term product road-map.
  • Prepare internal pursuit reviews and external proposals to include competitive assessments, customer hot buttons and win themes, price-to-win strategies, etc.
  • Work with communications staff to help define marketing themes for web, print, and social media advertising.
  • Lead/support coordination and execution of Tradeshows and customer visits.
  • Identify and implement key partnerships, alliances and improve business relationships.
  • Acquire and disseminate market intelligence and competitor knowledge as relevant to product line.
  • Maintain a high ethical standard of practice, including compliance with all company procedures.

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • May be selected for work that requires ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Level Security Clearance.
  • Prior military experience in fixed wing aircraft preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related degree required.
  • 4+ years of Product Marketing, Business Development / Sales experience in the military avionics sector.
  • 3+ years of business development/sales specifically in head/helmet mounted displays.
  • Experience in lead development, qualification, and closing sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to be successful in achieving business growth objectives with minimum management oversight.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Customer focused with effective and influential presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to form relationships and exert influence at all company, partner and customer organization levels.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and sales tracking systems.
  • Local and Domestic Travel up to 70%.
  • Ability to comply with all Company guidelines, policies, procedures and embrace Company Core Values.
