About the Role:
The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for defining, developing and implementing efficient and effective highly scalable reporting solutions designed to provide insightful analysis critical to management and operational reporting and decision making.
  • Work with customers, end-users, technical analysts, and application designers to define the data requirements and structure for business intelligence (BI) applications
  • Design models for the data warehouse or data mart (data structure, storage, and integration)
  • Work with the business to aggregate large data sets for use within BI solutions
  • Create specifications for reports, data and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements
  • Develop, design, document and optimize complex SQL queries
  • Provide actionable, accurate and timely ad-hoc analysis for immediate business decisions.
  • Determine the best ways to transform data to be used to build the best visualization
  • Develop strategies for data acquisition and integration of the BI platform’s data engine
  • Support IT/Operations with IT issues and respond to questions as the need arises.

Who we would like to meet
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or any IT and/or Business-related discipline
  • Generally, 4+ years’ experience in data management and data warehousing technologies related to data modeling, database design, ETL development, and BI reporting
  • Excellent SQL and data warehouse skills. Experience writing complex queries on large data sets
  • Expertise with Windows and Linux environments
  • Experience with Business Intelligence Platforms: Power BI, Sigma, and Looker
  • Understanding and experience with designing building data models that drive decisions
  • Expertise with cloud database technologies like Snowflake
  • Understanding of data modeling skills (i.e. conceptual, logical and physical model design - with both traditional 3rd normal form as well as dimensional modeling, such as star and snowflake)
  • Experience dealing with large data sets
  • Advanced Excel skills
