Job description
Position Summary
Working within the Geodis SCO Engineering team, which is responsible to design or optimize Supply Chain solutions for Geodis customers (existing or targeted customers):
A. ADVISORY/CONSULTING
Provide our expertise to better optimize Geodis Client's logistic network
1. Reengineering
o Warehouse layout and design
o Eliminate non value added tasks
o Rationalize tasks and related resources
o Define solution costing
2. Network Design
o Optimize transport and inventory cost, rationalize the logistic network
o Improve Client's network to address their specific constraints (lead time, product availability…) at the best cost
o Integrate Geodis standard divisions services into a customized innovative offer
o Inventory Optimization
o Continuous Improvement
o Define solution costing
3. Supply Chain Maturity Assessment
o Support the customer in assessing the stakes of its supply-chain optimization
o Define solution costing
B. STRATEGIC OUTSOURCING
Strategic outsourcing consists of orchestrating and optimizing global supply-chains in environments requiring flexibility, visibility and high level of performance
o Managing Tenders for 4PL or LLP opportunities.
o Solution Design for Key Geodis Global Accounts
C. MISCELLANEOUS
Delivering Group Innovation support:
o Expertise and methods for new offers / products
o Address new markets or new regions
o Contribute to Geodis Sustainable Development approach
Key Responsibilities
1. Utilizing experience in advisory (consulting) projects to deliver value to our customers in a manufacturing environment. This can include capacity analysis, make vs buy analysis, sourcing strategies, supply chain planning, and demand forecasting support.
2. Research, coordinate and recommend process improvement throughout the operations and logistics functions to add measurable value to the company.
3. Research and analyze issues with varying complexity related to workforce performance; warehouse layout and flow; and material and workforce utilization. Make recommendations and implement solutions for improving processes, efficiency, and general warehouse practices.
4. Utilize engineering tools and experience to find value (savings and service improvement) for our existing and potential new clients.
5. Support and lead in managing opportunity responses (Advisory, Supply Management and Strategic Outsourcing) with respect to the customer and Geodis' divisions or partners.
6. Participate in Geodis SCO Engineering innovation projects
7. Assist in the understanding of customer's needs (translate into technical requirements)
8. Assist in building the supply chain solution and guaranteeing pertinence of the provided technical study
9. Assist in ensuring the presentation of technical aspects of the offers and the value enhancing of proposed solutions (in cooperation with sales)
Applicant's profile
- Bsc / Msc (Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering)
Experience
- +5 years' experience in Engineering / Solution Design at a service provider
- International experience is a plus
- Experience in Supply Chain Solution Design
- Experience in Business controls understanding and experience
- Experience in Strong communication skills (Written and oral in English)
- Experience in Coordination and leadership skills (preferably project management experience)
- English: Fluent
Skills
- Experience in Warehouse Layout and Design Tools
- Experience in Activity Based Costing Tools for labor planning
- Experience in network design tools and methodology (Llamasoft, Xcargo, other).
- Expertise in Supply Chain Management (Transportation, Warehousing, Procurement)
- Strong analytical skills, understand data collection, statistics and recognize relationship between various process functions
- Capacity to estimate functional IT needs linked to the proposed solution
- Competences in project management (planning, cost, quality, deadline)
- Knowledge of Logistics IT systems (WMS, TMS)
- Self-starter and excellent organization skills to be able to handle multiple activities
- Candidate must possess strong communication and leadership skills to be able to foster cross-functional activities
- Commercial awareness

Travels
- Travelling within US/MX/Canada Region for customer related visits
- Travel to Poughkeepsie, NY (or Mechanicsburg, {PA) for team alignment and meetings
- Estimated Travel time = 25% of overall working days
