Summary:

Purchase machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies or services necessary for the operation of an establishment.

Responsible for buying goods and services for use by their company or organization.

Entry level. 2 years purchasing related experience required.

Skills

o Exercises minimal independent judgment with direction from supervisor.

o Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, negotiation skills and interpersonal skills. (Required)

o Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information (Required)

o Ability to predict consumer buying patters (Typically required)

o Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing (Required)

o Knowledge of supply chain management (Typically required)o Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, Ariba, and Maximo.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

o Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability and other relevant factors

o Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts

o Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services

o Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods and vendor invoices.

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
