The Position

We are looking for a skilled CAD Drafter to join our diverse team in Houston TX! This position will utilize CAD software to create, modify, and update construction documents for a variety of multi-family, residential, and commercial projects.

You can expect to:

  • Use CAD software to create and modify the structural details of buildings and interiors from an architect’s rough drawings.
  • Prepare sheets using title blocks to create a structural set of drawings.
  • Use the engineer’s markups to make updates to the structural model using Revit software.
  • Utilize ISC’s standard template to prepare models.
  • Prepare drawings and/or models received from the architect by removing any unnecessary items.
  • Set up drawings with external references by linking architectural files with ISC’s files.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with all clients, consultants, and contractors in which we do business with.
  • Draw plans for foundations, buildings, and structures based on instructions provided by engineers and architects.
  • Ensure plans are completed by their assigned due dates without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Adhere to all department and industry standards as well as all federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year of drafting experience preferred
  • Proficient with CAD software required
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Legally authorized to work for any U.S. employer, with the ability to work full-time (40 hours/week)
