Job description

The CAD/PLM administrator work will touch a variety of business areas, including research and development, manufacturing, procurement, and external vendors. The individual in this role will be expected to lead the work on system administration activities for CAD/PLM solutions including change management, upgrades, testing, user feedback, and day-to-day operational activities. This role will be the single point of contact for CAD/PLM issues, access requests, training, and business workflow needs related to CAD/PLM. Position also requires the rendering of CAD design support based on workload/project priorities.


Job Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy configurations for Teamcenter, NX and Capital (SaaS/On-Premise)
    • Data Model (BMIDE)
    • Business Logic (ACLs, Organization, Workflows)
    • User Interface (Stylesheets, Preferences, Queries)
    • NX/Capital options, preferences, and best practices
    • Work closely with engineering departments to understand processes, improve efficiency, and help create effective business process solutions
    • Coordinate with external consultants to provide additional Teamcenter and NX support
    • Develop and execute strategies for PLM and CAD system functionality implementation
    • Provide end user support and mentoring
    • User account setup and maintenance
  • Create and/or revise drawings and solids models following engineering standard practices and procedures
  • Produce mechanical engineering documentation such as component drawings, assembly drawings, and installation drawings
  • Generate engineering bills and verify information
  • Assist with design for standardization and cost reductions by establishing new ideas and concepts for fabrication and assembly
  • Support assembly and fabrication as needed to insure smooth implementation of design changes
  • Create and maintain engineering standards and work instructions
  • Experience with configuration and support of PLM systems (preferably Teamcenter)
  • Experience with configuration and support of CAD systems (preferably NX)
  • Experience with engineering/business processes in low volume, high complexity industries
  • Proficient in CAD (preferably NX) for modelling and detailing
  • ANSI-Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Proficiency in PC based word processing and spreadsheets
  • Familiarity with Teamcenter administration and infrastructure
  • Familiarity with NX & Capital configuration and customization
  • Familiarity with 4-Tier installations
  • The ability to work independently under tight deadlines is essential in this fast-paced environment.
  • Superior internal and external communication skills
  • Position does not allow telecommuting and employee must be present in the office.
