Job Title: Arts & Crafts Specialist

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Compensation: Hourly, based on experience
Job Summary: The Outing Club Summer day camp is seeking an experienced and creative Arts and Crafts Specialist. The Arts and Crafts Specialist will be responsible for planning and leading daily arts and crafts activities for campers aged 5-12. The Arts and
Crafts Specialist will work with the camp director to develop a curriculum that is engaging, fun, and age-appropriate.
Dates of 2023 Camp: June 26 - August 18
Days: Monday - Friday
Hours: 7:30am - 5pm
*Staff will be expected to participate in training sessions and camp setup on the following dates:
- Jun 12, 2023 - Jun 23, 2023 - Pre-camp Planning
- Jun 11, 2023 - Counselor Training
- Jun 24, 2023 & Jun 25, 2023 - 2023 Summer Camp Setup
Age Requirement: 18+
Location(s): The Outing Club Indoor Center, Woodward Park, Bucklin Beach & Elkins
Beach (town of New London)
Qualifications:
● At least 2 years of experience working with children in an arts and crafts setting
● Strong organizational and communication skills
● Ability to work independently and in a team environment
● Strong attention to detail
● Ability to be creative and flexible in planning and executing arts and crafts activities
● Current first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain certification prior to camp start date)
● Ability to pass a background check and other screening requirements as necessary.
Responsibilities:
● Plan and lead daily arts and crafts activities for campers aged 5-12
● Develop a curriculum that is engaging, fun, and age-appropriate
● Ensure the safety of all campers during arts and crafts activities
● Maintain a clean and organized arts and crafts area
● Participate in all camp activities, including but not limited to, field trips, games, and special events

- Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (Preferred)
