Capital Project Expeditor - Supply Chain

Position: Contract until 12/22, opportunity for extension.

Location: Whiting, Indiana

Hybrid Schedule: 3 Days onsite and 2 days remote

We are recruiting for a client in the refining industry. The Capital Project Expeditor will work as part of a commercial team to assist in delivering purchase to pay (P2P) transactions in support of the execution of Capital Projects. Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSCM) is the process by which the client purchases goods and services from the external marketplace with the Expeditor working to maximize value to the business. Expeditor has a key role in ensuring that all supplier deliverables are received on schedule in accordance with project requirements. Responsible for preparation and implementation of a project expediting plan that proactively tracks and monitors supplier deliverables and provides early identification of potential risks / opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • On time compliance with all HSSE training requirements
  • Participate in meetings focused on HSSE
  • Accountable for compliance and understanding of all company policies.
  • Accountable for own personal safety and understanding of impact on daily job activities
  • Identify and manage supply chain risk will follow established common processes in work execution.
  • Align to the values and behaviors of the company.
  • Provide regular reporting to the Capital Projects Team(s) displaying current deliveries and cost.
  • Minimize commercial risk, by ensuring all material, equipment, and documentation are in place to assure project schedule compliance.
  • Work within the provider business systems and processes to execute equipment and material deliveries to the required location and with all appropriate documentation.
  • Communicate and engage with the suppliers to insure material requisition packages (MRP) are completed at the designated scheduled milestone.
  • Deliver continuous improvement to increase value, efficiency, and systematic management of the design approval, manufacturing, logistics and quality documentation processes.
  • Ensure documentation and equipment are delivered on-time and in accordance with the schedule compliance.
  • Ensure all print reviews/approvals, quality packages and in process/final documentation are addressed timely to maintain project schedule and delivery compliance.
  • Prepare project expediting plans that provide for effective tracking, monitoring and on-time receipt of all supplier deliverables including required data, documentation, materials and equipment
  • Contact suppliers to verify receipt and understanding of purchase orders, confirm shipping schedule commitments, establish status reporting requirements, and influence delivery improvement.
  • Proactively track and monitor supplier deliverables and maintain up-to-date reporting in designated database reflecting current status and analysis of schedule performance
  • Assess supplier performance utilizing a “look ahead” approach that enables early identification of risks and opportunities and recommendation of actions
  • Expedite all supplier deliverables that are or are anticipated to be behind schedule and work with suppliers to determine and implement corrective actions. Proactively monitor and enforce recovery plans.
  • Provide current promised dates to project planner for incorporation into overall schedule
  • Verify and coordinate Quality Assurance and Transportation activities assuring company inspections have been completed and shipping instruction provided
  • Interpretation of packing lists for receipt of goods, and verification with the purchase order.
  • Coordinate receipt of deliverables for validation and payment of Supplier invoices.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma mandatory
  • Secondary Education with focus on Engineering or Supply Chain Management preferred
  • Procurement system experience preferred.
  • SAP business system recommended
  • SRM procurement business interface recommended
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in expediting role with focus on major capital projects

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.84 - $36.05 per hour

Schedule:
