Job Summary

Incumbents in this position are responsible for performing fiscal support activities requiring specialized training and experience.

Essential Job Functions

• Works closely with Engineering and Operations departments to facilitate the execution of capital projects.
• Monitors all Capital Project budgets to ensure correct funding sources and that expenditure and payments are maintained in compliance with budget and contract.
• Maintains Project Accounting including project set, budget transfers, and revenue recognition.
• Enters purchase orders, and processes invoices related to capital projects.
• Maintains capital asset records including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
• Manages and monitors inter-local agreements, developers agreements, grants, loans, and all other agreements related to capital projects including cost eligibility determinations and the preparation of reimbursement request.
• Prepares various month-end reports related to capital projects.
• Assists in the preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
• Assists with daily banking transactions.
• Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or any related course study.

Five (5) years of professional accounting work experience in a managerial role, budgeting, project financing/tracking or any related work field.

Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid State of North Carolina driver's license.
