SALARY GRADE: Flate Rate

The Trial Court Administrator's Office, 26th Judicial District, serving Mecklenburg County, seeks a qualified candidate to provide support to the Caseflow Management Administrator and to serve as one of the Caseflow Coordinators.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Serve as the initial point of contact for the public and members of the Bar, requiring face-to-face, telephone, email and other written communication.
  • Provide back-up support to other Caseflow Coordinators.
  • Complete administrative and general office tasks.
  • Perform required data entry of case events.
  • Assist with the scheduling and tracking of cases outside of the courtroom.
  • May include scheduling hearings in other case types.
  • Respond to scheduling and general court-related inquiries.
  • Serve as a liaison to the public, local bar, and other court officials.
  • May compile and maintain statistical reports.
  • Any special project work as assigned.
This position reports to the Caseflow Management Administrator. Work hours are 8:00AM - 5:00PM, Monday - Friday. Alternate work arrangements and remote work available.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Knowledge of: court system and legal office practices and procedures.

Skills in: case management; organization; entering data quickly and with accuracy; and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.


PROOF OF SKILL LEVEL MAY BE REQUIRED UPON REQUEST

Ability to: explain office and court procedures, and regulations to the public; analyze and interpret facts or program information to make necessary decisions with accuracy; work independently in administering or coordinating special court programs; accurately spell and apply proper grammar; work well with others; speak and understand a language other than English; and organize and complete work by specific deadlines.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Associate’s degree in a human services field; or graduation from high school and two (2) years of experience in a human services field or the court system; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Management prefers graduation from a four-year accredited college or university with a degree in criminal justice, political science, English or a human services field and graduation from a Paralegal Certificate program is preferred. Applicants with an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered, but the four-year degree is strongly desired. Knowledge of court procedures and legal terminology is beneficial. Minimum of an intermediate level of skill in working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access is required. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who is detail-oriented and has strong oral and written communication skills.
