Cash Applications Specialist
Job description
Position Summary
The Cash Applications Specialist works to ensure all payer and patient payments received are accounted for daily.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Create deposit transactions for incoming mail.
- Responsible for reviewing and distributing the daily bank deposit receive from the accounting department.
- Responsible for daily payment reconciliation process.
- Ensure all payments receive by the company are posted in a timely fashion. This is performed by conducting a daily reconciliation of payments posted by the CBO department.
- Responsible for running end of month reports and working collaboratively with the Accounting department for month end reconciliati
- Researching and locating unposted monies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of computer systems.- Knowledge of medical insurance billing/account receivables.
- Understanding of reconciliation processes is a plus.
- Ability to work scheduled hours as defined in the job offer.
- Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions and follow written protocols.
- Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Ability to use office equipment (e.g., calculator, copier, fax, etc.).
- Ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Skill in presenting information in an organized manner.
- Skill in verbal and written communication.
- Skill in providing excellent customer service.
Education / Training / Requirements
High School diploma/GED.- One year experience in medical environment or;
- Certificate of completion in a medical program/field.
Physical Demands
Ability to stand and walk for periods of time.- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to climb or balance for limited periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 30 lbs. *
- Ability to grasp and hold up to 25 lbs.*
- Ability to hear normal voice level communications in person or through the telephone.
- Ability to speak clearly and understandably.
