Cashier Cafeteria Position Overview
As a part of the WMC Food and Nutrition team you will assist in all areas of the department associated with Patient, Retail and Catering Services.
UHS Wilson Medical Center is a 280-bed hospital and Level II Trauma Center. In this position, you’ll serve a medical facility that is a regional leader in cardiac surgery, neurosurgery and neurosciences, cancer care, maternity and high-risk obstetrics, neonatal intensive care, blood disorder treatment, and physical therapy and rehabilitation. Wilson is a bustling hospital and is a 24-hour designated stroke and chest pain center.
Cashier Cafeteria Responsibilities and Expectations
Demonstrates very good customer service skills while quickly and accurately collecting cash payment from cafeteria customers via cash registers and distributing change accurately and efficiently.
Maintains an accurate record of charged sales receipts during shift and document overages, shortages as they occur.
Verifies deposits at end of shift. Must adhere to departments strict policies of cash controls and separation of duties. Cashiers are responsible for balancing their drawers according to the Cashier Agreement.
Assesses in advance when change banks need replenishing. Accurately count bank and verify order.
Post menus and signage daily. Print new signs as needed.
Subjected to random, unannounced cash audits.
Assists operation by properly setting specific stations within time guidelines. Monitors these stations throughout shift and maintains appropriate levels of stock.
