Powerhouse Cafe and Catering is seeking an energetic and forward thinking Catering Kitchen Manager to lead our team! This leadership position is directly responsible for leading and managing a small kitchen staff of a fast growing catering company. In this role the kitchen manager is responsible to lead back-of-house staff including Line Cooks, Prep Cooks and Dishwashers through service. This means food quality, time management, and leading your staff is your top priority. If you are a strong leader with experience in kitchen management, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:
- In operations during key times. Managing food quality and service. Working side by side with team in modeling service excellence.
- In times of great demand, assisting in preparing meals, stocking food/supplies, and cleaning is required.
- Utilize company systems such as caterease, email.
- Managing inventory so that all necessary ingredients are stocked for service
- Hiring new staff and providing training to facilitate quick acclimation
- Streamlining the kitchen processes to maintain prompt service times
- Working with the Executive Sous Chef to develop and maintain the restaurant menu
- Setting regular cleaning standards for the kitchen and verifying that staff is maintaining sanitation levels
- Creating schedules for all kitchen staff
- Extensive previous culinary experience
- Strong team player with good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Certification from culinary school preferred
- ServeSafe or Food Handler’s Certification
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, restaurant management software, and POS software
- Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques and recipes
- Ability to remain calm and thrive under pressure
- Excellent management and leadership skills
