Job Title

Driver – CDL A

Job Summary

This job is the final customer facing for an order, and therefore one of the most customer satisfaction oriented positions in the company. Through the safe and lawful operation of our fleet (Pick-up, Single Axel Dump, Tandem Axel, and Tractor Trailer trucks), including delivery equipment (Moffett and Princeton forklifts), a driver is tasked with accurate and timely delivery of product. This expectation includes both customers internal (transfers) and external.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Assists in the loading of truck prior to delivery run.
• Check every load with the loader.
• Delivers material to job sites
• Picks material up from job sites, when instructed by supervisor.
• Maintains communication with Dispatch for any issues away from branch.
• Final check of material for accuracy during delivery.
• Maintains vehicle and equipment pre-check log, daily.
• Consistently adheres to work schedule (start time)
• Complete compliance with all D.O.T. regulations and company safety policies.
• Maintains status of required licenses and documentation required for vehicle operation.
• Any other assigned duties.

Qualifications and Skills

• High School diploma or General Education Development (G.E.D.), or equivalent work experience.
• Previous driving experience.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
• Proven ability to interpret maps and GPS to determine most efficient routing.
• Competency with an ELD.
• Available to work over-time.
• Experience with a manual transmission.
• Knowledge of building materials.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed primarily in an outdoor yard environment and warehouse and is subject to variations in temperature and weather. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 50 pounds regularly.
