Job description
CSPNJ is opening a Warming Center in Kearny, NJ from November 2022 through March 2023. The Warming Center provides services to individuals experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity and provides a warm place to stay overnight during extreme winter weather.
There are four (4) vacancies for CDL Drivers to pick up and transport guests to the Warming Center based in Kearny NJ. The drivers are also responsible for dropping off guest in designated locations after the stay is completed. This position requires a valid CDL license class B with passenger endorsement. The ideal applicant is an experience CDL driver with experience transporting passengers, must be compassionate and willing and able to work with homeless population in a supportive and respectful manner. Must be willing to be a team player and safely transport guests. This is a TEMPORARY position from November 2022 through March 2023.
There are (4) openings and the following available schedules.
- Schedule 1: 6pm - 12am
- Schedule 2: 12am - 6am (overnight)
- Schedule 3: 6am - 10am
- Valid Commercial driver’s license class b with Passenger endorsement is required.
- Must be reliable and able and willing to transport clients safely.
- Must meet the schedule requirements.
- Ability and willingness to interact with clients in a caring and professional manner.
- Person with the lived experience of using mental health services is a plus.
- Required to have COVID-19 vaccination by start date.
