We are seeking a Ceded Reinsurance Financial Analyst for our New York City, NY office.

Sompo International’s Ceded Reinsurance team is a globalized customer focused, dedicated and professional organization. The team is responsible for the purchasing and management of Ceded Reinsurance placements. The Ceded Reporting staff will provide accurate and timely production of financial statements, management, and regulatory reporting to achieve department standards and meet service level expectations.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist with preparing and understanding reinsurance schedules
• Assist with timely and accurate preparation and distribution of various internal management reports including reports distributed to the Sompo International Executive Board
• Support system and process enhancements including creating process documents, testing and working through issues with project management and IT teams, and final implementation
• Work proactively with both department’s stakeholders and internal team members
• Preparation of various quarterly underwriting analytic reports
• Support SOX compliance including analysis and reconciliation of reinsurance related accounts
• Support financial close activities

Desired Skills & Experience:

· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Minimum of 2 to 3 years of related work experience

• Strong computer skills required, especially in Excel. Database experience, working knowledge or similar underwriting or financial systems with FSRI/SAP preferred
• Collaborate with internal and external customers; understand the needs and goals of a customer and actively look for ways to meet them

· Strong verbal and written communication skills, and team player

· Excellent motivation skills

· Ability to think intuitively and work with little supervision

• Detail oriented, organized, and strong problem solver with analytical abilities and have a high level of accuracy
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demands

· Desired personal qualities include: energetic, resourceful, hardworking, self-motivated, highly organized and able to prioritize and manage expectations

· Reinsurance experience a plus

Sompo International offers a competitive compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience. The minimum salary for this position: $75,000.
