Location: BETSY JOHNSON HOSPITAL, DUNN, NC
Position Summary:
Cleans, sterilizes, packages, distributes, and tracks patient care equipment, instruments, and supplies. Inspects for damage and malfunction. Notifies registered nurse or department manager if items are missing or damaged. Operates, maintains, and performs quality control checks on equipment. Assists with inventory control. Follows hospital standards and governmental regulations to ensure proper sterilization. Maintains unit supply carts and crash carts. Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in a surgical setting preferred. Good communication skills. Professional demeanor. Good attention to detail. Ability to read and write and to follow verbal and written instructions. Central Sterile Supply experience, including Central Sterile Supply Certification. Oversees the preparation, sterilization, and distribution of equipment needed for patient care; maintains inventory records of Central Supply Room. Good communication skills. Professional demeanor. Good attention to detail.
Required Education, Licenses, and Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Other Information:
Must be able to see and hear. Must be capable of withstanding the fatigue associated with continuous walking and standing. Must be capable of delivering supplies and lifting objects that may weigh as much as 50 pounds and pushing carts with rolling weight as much as 100 pounds.
