The AmeriCorps Member will build a culture of sustainability, foster environmental stewardship via service, and increase the commitment to community engagement. The member will develop and launch an education initiative to engage and educate students around sustainability as well as community engagement topics. Lead the development and implementation of sustainability education events Coordinate events to promote sustainability and engagement with students Collaborate with other departments on outreach events Mentor CWU student leaders in sustainability and service to community Training, WSC tasks, program administration.

Central Washington University is a regional, comprehensive public university located in Ellensburg, Washington. CWU is an AASHE STARS Bronze rated institution and committed to further integrating sustainability into academics, operations, administration, and student life. The Sustainability Education Program Specialist will help achieve this goal by building a culture of sustainability, fostering environmental stewardship, and increasing sustainability literacy among CWU undergraduate students. Following best practices in higher education, the AmeriCorps member will develop and implement sustainability education and outreach programs to engage and educate CWU students around social, environmental, and economic sustainability topics. Ellensburg is at the heart of Washington State, with plentiful outdoor recreation in the nearby Cascade Mountains, Wenatchee National Forest, Columbia River, and Yakima River.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $2,066.86 per month
