CERTIFIED ATHLETIC TRAINER
SITE OF SERVICE:
- Naval Branch Health Clinic (NBHC), Naval Air Technical Training Center (NATTC) Pensacola, FL
- Services will be performed at Naval Air Technical Training Center’s NBHC /Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Training (SMART) Center, Marine Aviation Training Support Groups 21 & 23, Naval Aviation Technical Training Center and Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training.
POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree - graduating from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
- Experience: One year of experience as a certified Athletic Trainer after Graduation.
- Certification: Certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Board of Certification (provide a copy of certification with expiration date). of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer after graduation.
- English Language Requirement: The Contractor shall ensure that all HCWs providing services under this contract are able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
- HCW Physical Capability: HCWs shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- The HCW’s actual clinical performance will be a function of the overall demand for Certified Athletic Trainer services.
- Certified Athletic Trainer services will be limited to active duty military.
- The HCW’s work schedule will be determined by availability and need.
- The HCW will generally work three days at NBHC NATTC, Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Training (SMART) Center seeing patients. The other day’s services will be performed outside of clinical areas, educating, and working with the Marine Aviation Training Support Groups 21 & 23, Naval Aviation Technical Training Center and in classrooms, on the physical training (PT) fields, obstacles courses, and other training areas on Naval Air Station Pensacola.
- The HCW shall assist in the design and execution of strength and conditioning programs for active-duty military.
- Administrative and Training Requirements. The HCW shall maintain NATA certification.
HOURS:
- Services shall normally be provided Monday through Friday from 0600 to 1700.
- Shifts will generally be scheduled for an 8.5-hour period including an uncompensated .5-hour meal break.
- The HCW shall be on duty for 80 hours every 2 weeks, except during periods of approved leave and holidays.
- In no instance will an individual HCW be required to provide services (on-site service plus approved leave and holidays) in excess of 80 hours in a 2-week period.
- At the mutual agreement of the HCW and the government, alternative schedules may be implemented such as a compressed work schedule.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
