Job description
The Medical Records Coder will be accountable for conversion of diagnoses and treatment procedures into codes using an international classification of diseases and ensures that records are coded in an accurate and timely manner. This job requires skill in the sequencing of diagnoses/procedures to optimize reimbursement.
Minimum 2 years of hospital based coding experience required. AHIMA or AAPC Certification (hospital based) and completion of an accredited Medical Coding Course (hospital based) required. Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. This position is subject to WMRMC’s Drug & Alcohol Policy.
