We are seeking a CHAPLAIN in Wausau, Wisconsin at Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. The Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services (ACCHS) Chaplain oversees the quality of ACCHS spiritual care and services. Provides pastoral care and counseling on an ecumenical basis to ACCHS patients, their family members, staff and volunteers. Establishes working relationships with community clergy and supports their participation in developing and providing end of life care for their faith community.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of religious practices and beliefs normally acquired through completion of theological education beyond a bachelorette degree. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• A minimum of one unit of clinical pastoral education or willingness to obtain within first year if hire.
• A minimum of two years’ parish or parish related experience strongly preferred.
• Prior experience in a healthcare environment beneficial.
• Is able to travel to patient/client homes to provide patient/client care.
• Possesses a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License required.
• Possesses automobile liability insurance with minimum $100,000/$300,000 coverage required, or $300,000 combined single-limit liability.
• Certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) preferred.
• Ordination and/or Ecclesiastical Endorsement is beneficial.

Hours: 1.0 full-time, 80 hours every 2 weeks. Every 11th weekend/holiday. Will also include on-call rotation.

Outpatient visits exceed 50,000 and there are also more than 24,000 annual emergency department visits.
