Job Description:
Chaplains will provide pastoral care services to residents as needed and desired on campus. Assure that the spiritual dimension of being is integrated into the everyday.
Duties Include:
- Be available to residents and staff in times of crisis and per request or referral from staff, other residents, families and/or pastor.
- Visit residents while they are hospitalized for an extended period of time.
- Call on behalf of Greencroft Goshen at the funeral home and/or visit the bereaved spouse or family members.
- Plan, coordinate, and participate in worship services, Bible studies, and faith enrichment opportunities.
- Maintain a working relationship with local pastors.
- Meet regularly with the Lead Chaplain.
- Meet regularly with the Greencroft Goshen chaplains for support and coordination of spiritual and pastoral care services across campus for residents and staff.
- Is responsible for building and maintaining a cohesive team environment.
- Continually looking for process improvement opportunities.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or related field, or equivalent experience required.
- Ordained or ecclesiastically endorsed
- Seminary or graduate level training, preferred
- At least one year of clinical pastoral education, training or experience in working with older adults
Schedule:
- 30 hours per week with occasional weekends
