The role

Do you have a passion for the culinary arts and addressing food insecurity? Do you like to get your hands in the dirt and grow things?

The Sitka AmeriCorps Program serves the stunning community of Sitka, Alaska. We seek a special person for a year of service at our alternative high school, Pacific High.

Serving youth using a trauma-informed curriculum, you will gain experience in the culinary arts, get the opportunity to grow and put up food from our garden, and help our school address issues of food insecurity.

About you

You will be an experienced chef with an understanding of food preparation and growing food crops.

You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of how to interact with underserved populations and deliver quality meals, on a budget, under pressure.

You will have experience working in an environment of change and transition, and in leading yourself and others successfully in a complex and dynamic environment.

This is a full-time, one year position.
