A chemical blender works with raw materials to create a chemical mixture in a blend tank for commercial or industrial uses. In this position, your responsibilities focus on ensuring the correct ingredients go into each batch and that the pumping and pouring of the mix are accurate and precise. You use mixers, scales, and meters on pumps to help ensure the proper quantity of each batch goes into the right container. You must ensure that all mixes are correct according to batch sheets. The chemical blender is also responsible for the setup and clean-up of the blending area, including placement of all raw materials before and after mixing a batch.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Storing, retrieving, mixing, and monitoring chemicals used in the production process.
  • Pumping and pouring chemicals into blend tanks in predetermined quantities.
  • Operates equipment (mixers, scales, meters, pumps, forklifts, etc.) safely.
  • Troubleshooting issues with production equipment and processes.
  • Ensures correct ingredients are used for each batch.
  • Monitors raw material usage on each blend are added correctly with right weights.
  • Ensures all raw materials returned to inventory have the right quantity and information.
  • Follows lab instructions regarding batch approval, adjustments, or additional requirements.
  • Recording information, such as ingredients, weights, and temperature on the batch ticket.
  • Completes all paperwork and batch documentation in a timely manner.
  • Cleans equipment and work area as needed and or required.
  • Refers issues/problems to supervisor person/Manager.
  • Ensures proper and safe storage and handling of all raw materials and finished goods; maintains forklift and handling procedures per established protocols.
  • Willingness to comply with safety regulations, including wearing protective gear when necessary. Observing all company, local, state, and federal safety and quality regulations.
  • Reporting accidents, safety violations, or other concerns.
  • Working with other team members to complete the production process where necessary.
  • Meeting physical requirements of the position, including walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, climbing, crouching, operating tools, and wearing safety gear. Including frequent lifting of up to 50lbs.-70 lbs. required.
  • Assists in annual physical inventories and regular cycle counts.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Previous experience operating a sit-down forklift and drum pickers
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently with colleagues
  • Must be able to multi-task and work independently required
  • Excellent communication and math skills required
  • Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English, including safety rules, operating procedures, product recipes, material identification, etc.
EDUCATION REQUREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or GED.
OTHER INFORMATION

This position works in an enclosed building that is subject to variances in temperatures, extreme heat in summer, and colder temperature in winter. This position frequently lifts, pushes, pulls or carries up to 50lbs.-70 lbs. pounds of product.
