Job description
A sleep technologist works under the general supervision of the designee of the medical director to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. The Chief Sleep Technologist manages the day-to-day operations of Sleep Lab to include scheduling of patients, addressing customer service goals, and assist in performance improvement of sleep lab care.
Individual is responsible for the technical and clinical expertise of the sleep lab. Works with Medical Director to keep staff updated with all Sleep related issues. Responsible for all Quality Assurance programs of the Sleep Lab as well as maintaining all testing equipment to be in working condition.
The Chief Sleep Technologist performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing, scoring, analysis and associated interventions. Adheres to AASM guidelines and to departmental policies and procedures when performing job duties and maintains required competency assessments on an annual basis.
Education: Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology.
OR, Successful completion of a sleep technology program associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency for all competencies required of a sleep technician.
AND
Certification by a nationally recognized certification board and holds either the Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential to be completed within year of employment.
Experience: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with 2 years’ experience preferred. One year of leadership and management experience preferred.
Licenses/Certification: Current BLS certification, ACLS within the first year and maintenance expected* thereafter.
- Expected = if clinicians expire they must be signed up for the next available class after their expiration and per director discretion.
Compensation: $30.30 - $37.12/hr, depending on experience.

Medical, dental, vision, health care FSA, and dependent care FSA: All active employees working 40 or more hours per pay period are eligible for benefits on the first of the month following date of hire. PRN staff are not initially eligible for benefits, and GVH follows all Affordable Health Care Act Eligibility guidelines.
