Position Summary:
Kootenai Kids Child Care is looking for a dynamic and caring teacher with interests in education and inspiring children's lives. The opportunity exists to provide a positive, nurturing, engaging, and meaningful interaction with children, families and a team of dedicated Teachers on a daily basis. Join us in providing quality care and encouraging children to grow and learn through developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans.
Responsibilities:
- Incorporates child development using a child's natural inclination to play
- Conducts individual and group activities to encourage learning and develop social interaction skills
- Provides diverse basic care needs, including preparing and supplying proper nutrition, performing cleaning duties and dealing with behavioral issues
- Communicate with parents to discuss a child's educational development
- Maintains appropriate records of attendance and activities
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 6 months of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified preferred
- Teacher/Care Provider license issued by the City of Coeur d'Alene within 10 days of hire
- Pediatric First Aid CPR AED card required within 10 days of hire
Working Conditions:
- Heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job
- Frequent kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and twisting
