JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Promotes the mission and philosophy of NPHS by being helpful, courteous and positive with co-workers and clients of NPHS, refraining from gossip or mean comments regarding co-workers or clients of NPHS and by supporting management decisions, policies and projects.

2. Provides mentoring and support for field staff in curriculum, assessment, and challenging behaviors as indicated and/or directed.

3. Assists in monitoring classrooms through the completion of CLASS and provides follow-up mentoring as needed.

4. Assists in conducting developmental screenings.

5. Attends Individual Education Plan meetings as directed.

6. Attends Network Resource Committee as directed.

7. Files children’s education/disabilities forms in Central Office files.

8. Completes Child File Checklists in the field (Education and Disabilities files).

9. Assists in preparation and coordination of Education Advisory Committee.

10. Enters disability information into program data tracking program such as PROMIS.

11. Provides clerical support to the Child Development/Disabilities Coordinator.

12. Attends meetings on behalf of the Child Development/Disabilities Coordinator as directed.

13. Updates and collects data and prepares reports as appropriate.

14. Participates and/or assists in all training activities as directed.

15. Acts as a liaison or serves on committee for collaborations between NPHS and other child care or service institutions as directed.

16. Substitutes in the classroom for short or extended periods of time when directed to assure educational services to children occur.

17. Completes Professional Development Plans with Teacher Assistants as directed.

18. Assists in maintaining Excel reports for all tracking of screenings, children with disabilities, and other pertinent information needed for reporting for Head Start, Early Head Start and CCP.

19. Maintain CLASS observer reliability with recertification.

20. Complete CLASS observations on all assigned classrooms.

21. Provides support and mentoring in Conscious Discipline techniques in the classrooms.

22. Assists in the monitoring of the children’s disabilities files in Central Office, per the Monitoring Plan.

23. Enter disabilities information into the PROMIS system.

24. Assists in the Family Support Committee (FSC) meetings with classroom teams and families to help support behaviors that are serious and/or happening at home at school.

  • Ensure that all children are screened within 45 days of their first day of enrollment.

26. Completes the DIAL 4 for any Head Start children needing further assessment.

27. Track completion of screenings for all children.

28. Other duties as assigned.

MIMIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Associates degree in Early Childhood or related field.

2. 2 years’ experience in Head Start or 4 years in the education field

3. Computer skills

4. Excellent communication and organizational skills

5. Excellent inter-personal skills

6. Ability to work cooperatively with outside organizations

7. Ability to travel throughout 5 counties

8. Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance

9. Ability to travel long distance and stay overnight up to 1 week.
