Child Focused Adoption Services Recruiter - Albany, NY

The Child-Focused Adoption Services Recruiter is a grant-funded position through Wendys Wonderful Kids. The position is a collaborative project between Parsons Child and Family Center and various county entities. The purpose of the project is to engage in diligent efforts to help older children with a permanency goal of adoption to achieve their goal and to develop permanent and sustainable relationships with caring adults.

What a Child Focus Adoption Services Recruiter can expect at Northern Rivers:

• Review referrals and records to identify potential permanent family, interview families and assess their viability as potential permanent family, work with local district staff to support adoption process.
• Plan with the County dates and times to be on site to review records and participate in staff meetings and trainings as they relate to the position.
• With County approval, participate in planning and one-to-one meetings with identified youth to discuss barriers and progress towards permanence, act as an advocate for identified youth, and work with potential families to identify appropriate matches.
• Maintain records as identified by the project and report monthly activities.
• Facilitate training as needed for potential permanent families (MAPP or Deciding Together).
• Coordinate resource parent development activities with other staff and collaterals where needed
• For families with existing, valid home studies, assure that any needed updates or amendments are timely and accurate.
• Participate actively in community marketing activities surrounding recruitment.
• Participate in treatment planning and service plan reviews for identified youth.
• Participate in on-going training in permanency areas.

Your Experience and Qualification

• Bachelors degree
• At least two years of experience working with children and families
• Experience in child welfare and juvenile detention preferred
• Foster care and/or recruitment experience required
