This Childcare Counselor position will start at the beginning of the school year with training beginning mid-August. Many locations to choose from!

The YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh is looking for fun and energetic people who want to make a difference in the lives of children by providing direct supervision of youth in an afterschool setting.

Our after-school programs provide a safe environment where youth have the opportunity to build friendships, gain exposure to new enrichment projects based in STEAM and healthy living, and receive homework support.

Before/Afterschool Childcare Counselors will implement lesson plans that include creative, fun activities; assist with homework; follow and implement all safety protocols and work with students to solve disputes in a positive way.

DETAILS FOR CHILDCARE COUNSELORS:

• Monday-Friday
• Hours vary by location. Morning, afternoons and full day hours available.
• Employees are assigned a primary location but may be required to go to another location within the region to assist when needed.

PAY SCALE FOR CHILDCARE COUNSELORS:

$12.00 - $15.00 per hour based upon qualifications and availability

QUALIFICATIONS FOR CHILDCARE COUNSELORS:

• Must have minimum of one year experience working with youth

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required

• If College Level - must produce unofficial transcript

• Three references required

Candidates must have or obtain a recent physical and TB test as well as final 4 Child Care Clearance certificates prior to starting employment. This includes PA Criminal Certificate, PA FBI - Use Code: 1kg738, PA Child Abuse, and NSOR.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
