POSITION SUMMARY: Must adhere to Standards of Conduct which include that no child is left alone or unsupervised and follow reporting systems. Assist other Childcare Providers in implementing activities and curriculum for children to promote growth and learning in all developmental areas. Assist in providing a safe environment for all children in the classroom.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Have a High School Diploma or be working on GED or diploma
• Experience and/or a desire to work with children birth to 5thgrade in a classroom setting.
• Ability to maintain records on a computer system or willing to learn.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• No prior convictions of child abuse/neglect. Criminal History background clearance.
• Physical and TB screen upon conditional offer to hire. (external employees)
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is desirable, but not always required. The primary language in the workplace in English.
• Clear Drug and Alcohol screening upon conditional offer to hire. (external employees)

** Documented on the job, WICAP education and/or experience may be used as an equivalent to some of the experience and qualifications needed.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL ABILITIES AND PROCESSES:

• Regular keeling, stooping and bending.
• Occasional lifting in excess of 50 lbs.
• Daily visual observations of participants.
• Ability to closely monitor and supervise children in the classroom and on the bus.
• Computer literacy skills (word processing, database and spreadsheets, internet e-mail use required).
• Ability to work independently, and in a team environment prioritizing and determining workload.
• Ability to respond appropriately (both mentally and physically to an emergency or a risis situation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures that no child is left unattended.
• Ensure safety is a priority in performing all job responsibilities. Provide safety training and ensure adherence to the safety policy.
• Assist in implementing classroom curriculums.
• Keep CDA current if applicable.
• Schedules and organizes their time to meet all job expectations timely.
• Follows requirements outlined in policies, regulations, and operational procedures.
• Participate in the recruitment of participants.
• Paperwork and reports are completed accurately and timely.
• Model Respectful Workplace Policy when interacting with WICAP customers, community members, and colleagues.
• Be responsible to ensure compliance with confidentiality policy. (including HIPPA)
• Perform other relevant responsibilities as required by the program and as outlined in position expectations.
• Participate in professional development, sometimes off-site, at the request and of the supervisor.
• Assure that a positive image of WICAP is portrayed at all times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.34 per hour
