We are seeking a strategic, mission-driven and skilled professional to join the core team as Chief of Staff to the President. The Chief of Staff will report directly to the President and act as their right-hand partner to enable the success of the business and the culture of CIC Health as a member of the leadership team. The Chief of Staff will support (and in some cases own) key strategic responsibilities and initiatives in the organization and will also support the management process, culture and board engagement that enables our ability to achieve our mission and vision.

ABOUT CIC HEALTH
CIC Health – a subsidiary of CIC, is one of the fastest growing healthcare logistics and services companies in the country. CIC Health is Cambridge (MA)-based, privately owned, public benefit corporation that is a subsidiary of CIC.   • Early 2020:
Cambridge Innovation Center, a global leader in building and operating innovation communities and laboratories, establishes its return to work safely playbook catching the eye of client, Nikhil Bhojwani. Nikhil introduces CIC CEO, Tim Rowe to Dr. Atul Gawande, a nationally respected surgeon, writer, and public health leader.

  • Summer 2020:
Recognizing an urgent need to expand COVID-19 testing to slow the spread, Dr. Gawande and Tim Rowe, founded CIC Health, a logistics company that would go on to aggregate testing demand and marry it with untapped laboratory capacity across the United States quickly becoming one of the largest COVID-19 testing companies in New England and beyond.

  • Winter 2020 to Summer 2021:
Inspired by the work of mass vaccination sites in the United Kingdom, CIC Health, in collaboration with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, built and operated the mass vaccination sites at Gillette Stadium, Fenway Park, Boston’s Hynes Convention Center, the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center, as well as hundreds of community based locations. CIC Health was particularly effective at serving urban, diverse, and economically disadvantaged communities; among the hardest hit by the pandemic.

  • Fall 2021 to Spring 2022:
CIC Health launches a massive state-wide school-based testing campaign in Massachusetts, Vermont, New York City and Washington schools allowing for over 1 million school days to be saved.

  • Performed over 6.5 million COVID-19 tests across 20 states.
  • Administered over 1.2 million COVID-19 vaccinations.
  • Delivered net promoter scores in the 80’s for our public testing operation, 50’s for our business-to-business enterprise, and 80’s for our vaccination sites.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WORK
In partnership with the President and senior leadership team:

  • Plan end execute a robust management process (goals, KPIs, meetings, engagement) to support the growth and success of the business.
  • In collaboration with the VP of People, develop the strategy and culture to make CIC Health a best-in-class and inclusive company to work for, measured by CIC Health’s ability to engage/recruit/retain top talent and by the successful execution of critical initiatives including on-boarding, development/performance management and DE&I.
  • Implement robust processes and documentation to support a strong infrastructure and foundation to enable growth and execution that is effective and efficient.
  • Support engagement of the board, in formal and informal ways, including meeting preparation and execution, 1:1 engagement of board members and engagement of the senior leadership team.
  • Support high profile strategic relationships and partnerships that will enable the success of the company and team.
  • Support the communication strategy and development of materials for key strategic topics and items, both written and verbal for internal and external use. This may include support of fundraising strategy and engagement.
  • Serve as a proxy for the President and senior leadership team, internally and externally, acting on behalf of the senior leadership team from an engagement and communication perspective.

ABOUT YOU
Our ideal candidate is a service-minded individual who is reliable, creative, and able to work independently. As CIC Health develops over and against the shifting realities of the pandemic (and beyond), you will demonstrate poise, flexibility, and acuity to make week-to-week adjustments. You have 7+ years of progressive leadership experience that includes strategic consulting or financial services AND, preferably, operational experience in a healthcare company (ideally a high-growth setting focused on execution). You also have:

  • A succinct communication style about complex concepts both verbally and in writing, and use synthesized communications to drive results.
  • Demonstrated EQ which is the springboard to building trusting and strong collaborative relationships, internally and externally.
  • Experience driving collaboration across senior leaders (including C-suite and BOD level) and communication across an organization to enable success, growth and achievement of mission and vision.
  • Exceptional project management and program development skills with excellent detail orientation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to use insights from data and analysis and translate the findings into action.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and bring a structured, proactive approach to get things done and execute (results-driven).
  • Motivated with perseverance and confidence to solve complex problems, takes initiative, operates with integrity and autonomy, and succeeds in high pressure situations.

YOU HAVE
  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or similar field
  • 5+ years in a business or executive management role
  • Proven experience organizing and directing multiple teams and departments
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A versatile workstyle, dedicated to efficient productivity
  • Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives
  • Experience with data analysis
  • Experience with budget management
  • A nimble business mind with a focus on developing creative solutions
  • Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on interdepartmental communication
