Job description

Carlson Environmental Consultants is currently looking for Civil CAD Designer to provide support on ongoing civil and environmental consulting projects in the United States. This role will be best suited for a high energy candidate who shows initiative and displays the ability to complete project tasks without extensive supervision. The Civil CAD Designer will be responsible for preparation of construction plans, working closely with the Professional Engineers and Project Managers on large private solid waste facilities, and public municipal projects. This position will work closely with senior staff members and project managers.

Under direct supervision from a project manager, provides support to engineers for drawing layout, details, diagrams, and sketches, and provides supporting software computational work.

• Use Civil 3D and AutoCAD to develop various drawings (e.g., site plans, grading plans, utility plans, and details).
• Develop layouts from design concepts computing various dimension, angles, etc. as necessary.
• Prepares three-dimensional models for use in computations and designs.
• Completes finished drawings and graphics for submittals to clients.
• Checks drawings for completeness and accuracy.
• Assists with development and maintenance of CAD standards.

Requirements:

• High school diploma is required, and associate's degree or equivalent is preferred.
• Autodesk certification is a plus.
• 3-5 years of experience or training.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and similar software.
• Good mathematical skills and fundamentals in geometry and trigonometry.
• Working knowledge of supporting software: Word, Excel, Outlook
• Ability to work in a office environment and be dependable to all team members.
• Able to meet project deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.50 - $30.00 per hour
