Primary Purpose:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide glued inventory for useable product and proper training of crew.

Job Duties:

Level 3

• Follow start-up checklist each day
• Keep clamp operator supplied with boards
• Achieve working knowledge of inventory.
• Keep accurate daily paper work.
• Observe safety rules.
• Achieve increased quality and production as training period progresses.
• Capable of identifying good mix of glue and catalyst.

Level 4

• All of level 3 responsibilities.
• Knowledge of Data System.
• Responsible for training co-workers to run safely and efficiently.
• Responsible for achieving quality and production. Inspecting stock prior to glue up.
• Keep reject lumber neatly stacked and separated with stacking sticks.
• Band and tag all material before forklift removes it during change-overs.
• Maintain preventative maintenance as needed. Keep area and machine clean including clamp and glue applicator. Report machine issues to supervision and/or maintenance promptly.
• Required knowledge includes; proper amount of glue squeeze out, frequent bead of glue present without build up; calibrating.
• Adjust pressures as necessary.
• Cover for level 5 when necessary.
• Maintain correct placement of clamps and wood.

• Work with forklift driver to ensure proper material is placed at machine.
• Must achieve and maintain on a daily basis quality and production goal.

Level 5

• All responsibilities required of a level 4.
• Must have complete knowledge and understanding of different grades and combinations of glue-up by stock being used i.e. how to grade.
• Know and understand all center-mull combinations and how they are graded.
• Solely responsible for safety, quality, production and attendance. Performance in these areas must be outstanding to maintain a level 5 pay rate.
