What you will do:

• Company drivers are responsible for the safe operation of the company’s tractor/trailer fleet.
• Transport steel for the company in the most efficient way possible. Drivers will assist in the loading and unloading of steel and other supplies while providing customer service in a professional manner.
• Valid Class A CDL and current medical card as well as meet all NIM and DOT employment qualifications.
• Secure and tarp the loads with chains, straps and other fastening devises as needed to comply with company and DOT regulations.
• Perform the required DOT pre and post trip truck and trailer inspections.
• Maintain a legal driver’s log in accordance with all state and federal regulations.
• Check for the proper vehicle gross and axle weights before leaving on a trip.

How you will work:

Safely: All employees are responsible for their own safety. Additionally, all employees are responsible for the safety of their co-workers. Employee responsibilities will include but are not limited to: performing duties in a safe and efficient manner, properly use and wear required personal protective equipment as directed by the PPE Assessment/Hazard Analysis for the position, report all accidents, incidents and unsafe acts or conditions to their supervisor immediately, make on-the-spot corrections of unsafe conditions with-in their capabilities, make on-the-spot corrections to employees performing unsafe acts , and set a good safety example. All employees will be held accountable for violations of safety policies and procedures.

Pay: $0.38 - $0.51 per mile
