Job Summary:

The Department of Facilities Management and Development at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Cleaner (Evenings). The successful candidate will:

• Use mops, brushes, detergents, floor machines, and other cleaning equipment.
• Mop floors, clean walls, corridors, stairwells, partitions, windows, doors, etc.
• Use manual and mechanical equipment, strips and refinish floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Pick up and removes hazardous articles, which may be on floors and walls. Place them in suggested receptacles or in appropriate places.
• Use hand operated equipment, clean all environmental surfaces.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
• Applicant must be physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor.

Required Qualifications:

• No minimum education required.
• Ability to be detailed oriented and ability to maintain logs.
• Ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor.
