Responsibilities
Clinical Aide - Patient Transportation
Under direction from the department manager and according to established policies and procedures, transports patients to various hospital locations. Delivers patient charts, tests and so forth to appropriate locations, picks up and stores supplies, and assists in maintaining a variety of noncomplex transportation related records including name of patient (or material) transported, arrival and departure times, problems encountered and so forth.

St. John's Hospital Camarillo
Under direction from the department manager and according to established policies and procedures, transports patients to various hospital locations. Delivers patient charts, tests and so forth to appropriate locations, picks up and stores supplies, and assists in maintaining a variety of noncomplex transportation related records including name of patient (or material) transported, arrival and departure times, problems encountered and so forth.
Ability to understand and follow noncomplex written and verbal instructions in order to transport patients to appropriate hospital locations.- A thorough understanding of prompt patient routing and work flow between departments.
- Basic interpersonal skills necessary in order to pleasantly communicate with patients and other hospital personnel in transporting patients and/or other materials.
- Ability to maneuver wheelchairs, stretchers through obstacles in hallways.
- Must be able to squat to hook up I-meds, and place foot pedals down.
- Ability to use both hands and feet simultaneously while locking brakes and rolling equipment, etc.
- Heavy use of gurneys and wheel chairs.
- Moderate use of computers and related equipment.
- Moderate use of other office equipment.
This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Qualifications
- Hospital experience working with patient transportation preferred.
- High School Diploma
- CT AHA CPR Required
