We have an exciting opening as a* Clinical Informaticist. *This role will consist of research, analysis, codification, remediation, and quality assurance of new and existing technical informatics solutions while leveraging MCG's clinical content, healthcare information, artifacts, value sets, and your healthcare knowledge. This work also requires frequent engagement with stakeholders across MCG including product management, physicians, software engineers, data analytics and senior management team members. Clinical Informaticists offer advice and expertise to client organizations to help support their business goals.

In this role you will:

  • Provide technical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies for clinical decision/documentation support.
  • Consistently exhibit business acumen by:
  • Building client trust and confidence through a consultative approach, including excellent communication skills
  • Adapting communication style based on the personality, role or learning environment of each interaction
  • Applying critical thinking skills to demonstrate efficient and successful problem-solving strategies
  • Serving as subject matter expert
  • Perform codification of clinical indications, logic, rules, and reasoning for use evaluating patient clinical information in software solutions.
  • Curate and maintain value sets and other artifacts for use in rules and
  • Participate in clinical criteria/indication review and development with the client SME, clinical leaders, documentation specialists and reviewers
  • Perform unit testing on codified clinical indications
  • Create documentation of design, coding, test cases, and other artifacts related to developed or maintained code.
  • Perform analysis and data modeling of various disparate data sources (e.g., EMRs, medications, imaging), in order to determine their dependencies, and how best to integrate and leverage them for reasoning purposes.
  • Propose and prototype algorithms and informatics solutions in support of assigned projects
  • Apply leading edge approaches using modern software tools for data analytics and development
  • Ability to work under pressure and commit to tight deadlines
  • Guiding customers toward established best practices
  • Other projects or activities as assigned

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • MD (or PhD in a healthcare related field)
  • 6+ years' experience in clinical informatics, computer science, computer engineering, computational biology or a combination
  • 4+ years' hands-on experience with clinical data modeling, clinical decision support rules authoring, value set mapping, medical terminology, and clinical indications
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with FHIR, HL7, and C-CDA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SNOMED CT, LOINC, RXNORM, ICD10CM, ICD10PCS, CPT4, HCPCS
  • Ability to author rules and queries using XML, JSON, Java Python, or other languages
  • Demonstrated understanding of relational databases
  • Background with biological or medical concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Anticipated Pay Range: $180,000 - $236,000
Other compensation: Bonus Eligible: Yes

MCG Health is a Seattle, WA based company but we will consider remote candidates as well.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $176,000.00 - $206,000.00 per year
